Seattle, WA

June 6th - 8th, 2005

You see some pretty funky things on the road.
On Monday, I drove from Portland to Seattle.
I think that this is some sort of carnival ride.

And this is an old airplane.

The dome in Olympia or Tacoma.

Seattle in the distance from I-5.
I know, drive right - well it's good to multitask. Not bad, eh?

I will show you this view from above later on.

There is a huge influence of American Indian art in the Pacific Northwest.

Remember that view? well here's another from Pikes Market.

Bonnie taking photo in foreground and Seattle Police on bikes in background.

Self-explanatory.

The famous fish market that throws their fish to the costumer.

These flower boxes were all over at The Market.

A view of a Pikes Market and a ferry crossing one of the many lakes in Seattle.

Bonnie, joe tourist.

With Rose, my tour guide.

A very colorful store.

Close up of hanging colored peppers.

And even closer still.

Remember those flower boxes...

This is a statue of a man. Looks pretty real.

This city has a Starbucks on every corner.

Rose, my trusted and excellent tour guide.
She's standing underneath the monorail that goes to the Music Museum. We rode it just to be tourists.

One of my favorite buildings.

Seattle has San Francisco style hills and the entire city is built on a slant.

Cool photo of the hammer sculpture outside the Museum of Modern Art.

A closer look. By the way, the sculpture moves.
And just in case you are wondering, NO I am not driving.
This was taken through Rose's sunroof.

Really like the architecture in this city.

And reflections.

Driving under the convention center.

One of the many hills in Seattle. Notice how steep it is. Good thing it doesn't snow here.

Nancy and Alex in front of their new home.

The three of us went out to lunch to a noodle place.

Remember those hanging baskets of flowers in Portland? Well, Seattle has them too.

Space Needle view from one of the many hills in Seattle.

Another view.

Standing underneath the Space Needle. Pretty kewl, huh?

The smudges are clouds, it rains in Seattle, a lot.

Remember my favorite building? Well here it is from the top of the Space Needle.

Big ships and long trains.

Another view of that building with the Monorail in the foreground.

They have really cool flowers in Seattle. Must be all of the rain.

Daisy's.

Don't know what these are called but they were really soft and cool looking.

Seattle roses.

Another favorite photo.
A prize goes out to anyone who knows the name of this flower.

Playing with Dad.

Laguna is finishing off Alex's baby spaghetti.

Alex has a snack and the dogs concentrate on what she drops.

Maracaibo takes a nap.

Nancy and Alex.

Nancy.

Wayne and Laguna.

OK, so I couldn't decide which photo I liked better.
Laguna is where Nancy was born and Maracaibo is where Wayne was born.
