Dog Beach on Friday, March 3rd.

I remind myself that this is a really good spot to reflect after the office.
The wind in my face is therapeutic.

Mike and Gina show me the shirt that we will wear on Sunday.

Chris and Bonnie; taken at Volunteer Party at SRQ Yacht Club.

Bonnie, Gina, Mike and Chris.
Photo taken on Lemon Street in Downtown SRQ, first Friday.

Gina and I at 5:45am Sunday morning.

Chris with her pink flamingo balloon.

Zone 2, our post.

Sylvestor from Kenya, the leader whooshes by.
He was very fast in the early morning hours - too dark to try to follow him (I tried).

The very nice police officer at the corner of Indian Beach Rd and US 41.

This sign says it all. Why I choose to be a bike monitor and not participate as a runner.

Ann and Charlie and a friend.

Alice and her friend.

Mike in action.

Mike on 41.

Me.

Ann and Charlie on 41.

Alice from behind. Looks pretty good.

The sun rises from the East.

The runners on the Ringling Bridge.

We always ride over the bridge. This morning was the first time that I would ride under it.

Mike on duty.

Downtown.

The runners on Bird Key.

Mike working hard.

Here comes Sylvester.

And there he goes. I was breathing hard at 12 mph on the bridge in a headwind just to keep up with him.

The zoom lens on the camera really helps me look like I'm keeping up with this guy.

Mike on the right gets ahead of him and Kenny and Amy are on the right on their beach cruisers.
Sorry guys, the close up of you didn't make it because the photographer was moving.

This guy Greg was very nice (and married) who kept me company while Mike and I kept Sylvester safe.

Sylvester on Osprey enters the village.

Back on the bridge. This part was a little confusing.

That's Mike, still on the job.

This is about mile 24 and this guy is still cruising. He briefly stopped 3 times to pour water over his head and drink a little. On the bike we were traveling between 8-14 mph.

Sue, almost done and still looking great.

Sylvester makes it to mile 26.

Mark waits for Sue.

Mary and Don wait for their friend.

A Banyan Tree.

Sandra, this photo of spring in SRQ is for you.

Great photo of Alice and her friends almost at the museum.

Chris volunteers on her cruiser, she looks really cute, but where is her helmet?

Riley and Dixie, Chris' dogs.

The cone truck.

I love seeing this, US 41 blocked off with cones and the cars stuck in traffic.

The best water/rest stop on the route; Zone 2, next year all of the SAG stops should have music!

Many thanks to Gina, Mike, Chris, Kenny and Amy for volunteering. And great job to Alice, Ann and Charlie for completing the 13.1 mile walk and to Sue for completing her 13.1 mile 1/2 marathon run and to Mark and to Chris for completing their full marathon 26.2 mile run.
