On Saturday July 16th, Mom and I took a ride out to the north fork of Long Island.
Raspberries grow wild beside the road.
Long Island's idea of paradise.
This palm tree is plastic complete with plastic cocoanuts.
The north fork of Long Island reminds me a lot of France.
It comes complete with cooler weather, a lavender farm and several wineries.
The lavender.
The lavender is planted on plastic sheets in rows and several bees pollinate it.
Can you smell it?
Bunched and ready to sell.
Wearing purple for the occasion.
Multi-colored Hydrangea.
Blue Hydrangea.
End of the line and the ferry across to Connecticut.
Reminds me of Key West and Mile Marker 0.
Fishing boats in Greenport.
Last town on the Atlantic Ocean and Long Island Sound.

Looking across at Shelter Island.
On Sunday July 17th, I return to USDAN, an art day camp.
It's been 30 years since I was a camper, the place looks pretty good and exactly as I remember it.
Me and my pots.
The pottery wheel is harder than I remember.
I have class envy and walk over the
painting and drawing studios.
Susan, pottery wheel champ.
Susan and Julie show off their pots.
