Bike Florida: The Fun Coast Tour

Day 4 - Wednesday, March 21, 2007

Daytona Beach Layover Day
Miles: 15.8

Wednesday featured riding the famous Daytona International Speedway.
The track is 2.5 miles around. It takes a car 47 seconds going 200 mph to complete one lap.
We rode it with an extreme head wind on one side and a 28 mph tail wind on the other.
The embankment is at a 75 degree angle. This was the only day that we would see rain, for about a 3 minute drizzle on the windy side of the track.

Welcome to Daytona Beach.

The day starts off with some laundry.

We arrive at the Speedway and run into Sandy and John.

Bonnie and Rita.

Rita and the grandstands.

The track.

Go Rita, Go!

Here comes, Bonnie!

Heidi and Bonnie on the finish line.

Heidi looking good.

There goes, Henry.

Bonnie, on the walk of fame.

The flags.

Rita just outside, the front.

Across the street from the Speedway, on the way to Best Buy to buy a new camera charger.
I also left my palm pilot somewhere.

Rita and her lunch friends from the first day.

Me and my coffee Fribble.
Which is better, Friendly's or Steak and Shake?

Rita two timing it with our free sundaes.
Both with vanilla ice cream, one hot fudge, the other caramel.

Cute photo of Rita getting some much needed R&R. This is a vacation, you know.
We ride our bikes to do our errands and treat ourselves to a much needed pedicure.
Rita winds up giving her Bike Florida Share the Road vest to the owners son - who asked us a lot of questions.

Nice day. For dinner, we meet our new friends and order in pizza and chicken parmesan and Greek salad.

Take me to Day 5.
